Suite Luxury: Secrets The Vine Cancun
A sumptuous stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun can spoil a girl rotten.
It has been tough readjusting to “real life” after a sumptuous suite stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun.
We were invited to stay at the resort as part of a press group attending the annual Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival.
The weekend was so busy that our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to luxuriate in our lofty corner suite on the 28th floor (#2832) with 12-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides. Each morning, we opened the flowing white drapes that gave way to expansive views of the beach, lagoon and Caribbean Sea.
This room at the top was so high up that if a guest dared to walk around the suite naked (certainly not me), I suspect only the occupants of a passing helicopter or hot air balloon might have been able to peek in.
Bed, bath and beyond
Think: Spacious, contemporary, minimalist, and sophisticated—clean lines and muted neutral colors with textured fabrics and natural woods.
Bed
The comfortable king-size bed floating in the center of the bedroom area served as a painful reminder of how badly we need a new mattress at home. A huge louvered walnut armoire behind it provided more than ample closet and drawer space.
There were enough outlets and USB ports for any geek as well as strategically placed automatic light switches that even challenged us with a bit of a learning curve. With a flick of a switch, the 42” flat-screen satellite TV at the foot of our bed rose up for viewing from its wooden console. At night, when we got under the high thread-count covers, the twinkling lights of the city served as a virtual nightlight.
Bathroom
A soaking tub surrounded by a bed of natural stones also offered breathtaking views. The oversized shower beside it (large enough for three people) was enclosed by glass on four sides, with two sets of controls and twin rainshower heads.
A spacious double sink with wide shelves below held stacks of plush white towels and space to stow toiletries.
And beyond
Our suite also had a living/dining area with a long table (that enabled us to invite other guests for a room-service dinner and share our all-inclusiveness); a den (with a TV and wet bar) that could be used as a second bedroom (should a visitor never want to leave); and a convenient second bathroom.
With Italian porcelain floors that mimic bleached woods, one room gracefully flowed into another. The inviting wraparound terrace outside was perfect to squeeze in a few minutes of early morning sunbathing but looked large enough to throw a party for 50.
Bottom line
On a previous post on More Time To Travel about Secrets The Vine Cancun, I wrote about all the amenities that bring guests (including me) back to this resort again and again. In addition to the butler assigned to our suite, the Unlimited-Luxury® services include twice daily room attendant services, daily refreshed mini-bars, and 24-hour room service.
But in the end, no matter how glorious the design and décor of a room or suite, a resort stay is defined by personal service, and the warmth and caring of the people who work there. From top to bottom, Secrets The Vine is exceptionally well-managed with some of the most competent and hard-working staff in the region.
IF YOU GO:
Disclosure: Along with 30 chefs from around the world and our own press group, this stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun was hosted by the property but any opinions expressed in this post are our own.
Wow, that’s a gorgeous suite! I too loved my stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun and appreciate how the colours and airy space reflect the sea and sand so that it feels as though you’re floating in a cloud connected to nature rather than inside a hotel room. Nice job capturing the magic in your review.
It’s a very special place and you’ve said that beautifully, Michele. It’s one of the reasons I also decided to s spend my vacation there.
What a beautiful property and fantastic view!!
And the pictures don’t capture the view as well as the eye!
Wow. I’d have a tough time leaving!
Good observation:-)
