I chose it because of a hard sell when I printed my boarding pass, that made it seem like a better seat with more room all around. The seats in economy are very cramped in both width and leg room.

However, when I got aboard it was the same cramped seat, just with a bit more leg room. I was promised dedicated overhead bin space, but had to “pink tag” check my bag at the gate, as did everyone else that I saw. It wasn’t that my bag was big, it was a smaller than normal suitcase, but with a full flight there wasn’t enough bin space for Delta to fulfill their promises. The snacks were small bags of supermarket junk food – Wheat thins, Cheetos, trail mix, cookies etc, and I really don’t know why people are excited about these. People in seats ahead of me were grabbing them by the handful, and when the basket got to me it had Biscoff cookies and Cheezits left, the same snacks they serve in economy. The snacks were only passed around once on a 4 hour flight. The cocktails are free, but the wine was the cheapest kind possible.

My woman sitting next to me was trying to do work on her computer, and the plug kept falling out of the socket under the seats. She spent a lot of time bent double practically in my lap trying to get power to her computer.

When the flight landed I had to stand on the jetway for 10 minutes, waiting for my bag.

I paid $69 for about $5 worth of horrible snacks and wine, and got nothing in return. Unless you really, really need the 3″ of extra leg space, I’d skip at. And because of the totally rude treatment I received all along the line from Delta employees, I’m skipping Delta altogether for my next flight.

Liquor, beer, and wine are always free in comfort+ as are headphones. Very often the snacks are upgraded as in the flight attendants will come through the comfort+ section with a basket of upgraded goodies, chocolates and fresh fruit, apples, bananas.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m wondering what route you were on.

Had originally booked on a Boeing 717 in row 17 3 weeks ago which put us slightly forward of the wings (air sickness no fun). This weekend I was checking for flight time changes before booking our rental car when I realized they had switched us to an Airbus 320 with our seats in row 24, which were the closest forward we could get because the other rows available was exit row and I’m traveling with a 10 year old.

Marilyn,
You are correct. According to the Delta website: Under the SkyMiles Mileage Expiration policy, miles do not expire.
But I was eager to find a way to use those miles since it isn’t always easy! Thanks for your comment.

Per Delta’s program rules: ” Under the SkyMiles Mileage Expiration policy, miles do not expire.”
So that should not have dictated your choice of airline.

The traffic tie-ups at LaGuardia seem to be sporadic and unpredictable. Hope the government shut-down is over by then!

The newish Airbus sounds nice. Also, was interested to read about your recent Laguardia experience. I’ve been avoiding that always-under-construction airport like the plague, but will have to use it for a flight to Florida in about a month. Fingers crossed that the whole U.S. aviation system hasn’t fallen apart by then!
