Unique Wine Bottles Make Sparkling Gifts
Unique wine bottles stimulate our senses, capture our imagination, and beckon us to sip what’s inside.
With eye-catching designs, colors, and materials, they also make lovely gifts. Unique wine bottles can create an impression long before the recipient pops the cork.
Some wine bottles are so elegant (and very cool looking) that they beg to be recycled and repurposed.
Of course, many wine lovers are naysayers when it comes to making wine decisions based on packaging. They would never allow a dazzling bottle to guide their wine purchases.
But even in industry speak, regardless of what’s inside, bottles are designed to “drive engagement.” Admittedly, I’m one of those who falls prey for the allure of a pretty bottle.
We visited some of our local wine stores and scanned the web to curate a list of some of the most gift-worthy wine bottles for any celebratory occasion, holidays, engagements and weddings, milestone birthdays and anniversaries, or just to say “I love you ” or “Thank you.”
This post focuses on sparkling wines, but we hope to dig into the many unique bottles of still wines, too.

UNIQUE SPARKLING WINE BOTTLES
Veuve Clicquot Rosé X SMEG
Pretty in pink, this beauty earned its place on the list primarily because of its incredible box.
This unique, reusable Smeg Fridge gift box was inspired by 1950s refrigerators. Moreover, the box is functional; it chills the rosé champagne for up to two hours.
The vibrant Champagne, in the bottle, in the fridge, is refreshing and fruity, pairing well with aperitifs or light dishes like seafood and fowl.
Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Rosé
This seductive, pink-gold bottle of Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Rosé Champagne comes packaged in a matching black gift box.
Produced in limited quantities, this full-bodied sparkling wine offers a rich bouquet of red fruits with a lingering and complex finish. The wine derives its beautiful hue from the inclusion of still red wine harvested from old Pinot Noir vines.
Moet & Chandon Ice Imperial
This bottle of sparkling Moet & Chandon Champagne is wrapped in icy white embossed foil with a black ribbon design with gold trim.
The bottle design will make a striking entrance at warm-weather gatherings, either at the bar or at the dinner table. Moet & Chandon’s Ice Imperial is the first Champagne specifically designed to be served over ice.
This deep golden sparkling wine is a blend of three grapes: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes. The wine offers the aroma of tropical fruits, stonefruits, and a note of raspberry.
Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rosé (Limited Edition Bamboo)
Since 2016, Laurent-Perrier (a house founded in 1812) has changed the design of its bottles of Cuvee Rosé each year while retaining the iconic bottle shape.
This limited-edition bamboo bottle features long stems and bamboo leaves that disclose a peek at the bubbly inside. The venerable Champagne maker explains the design: Bamboo conveys lightness, resistance, and purity.
The wine is made with 100% Pinot Noir from ten different “crus.” It offers the taste of freshly picked red berries: strawberries, Morello cherries, black currants, and raspberries. The lingering finish is supple and rounded. Rated 92 by Wine Spectator.
Beau Joie Brut
This attractive bottle of Beau Joie Brut is attired in a smashing 100% solid copper cage in a rich metallic lattice pattern. The design was inspired by the armor worn by knights who protected their kingdoms.
In recognition of the need for environmental sustainability, the maker uses recycled scrap copper turning scrap waste into functional art.
A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes, this champagne has no added sugar. Tasting notes from William Wong: This wine shines with tiny, active beads, aromas and flavors of tart apple, mineral notes, and slight yeastiness.
Valdo Paradiso Rosé
Italian sparkling wines can be a more approachable alternatives to French Champagne.
Wrapped in colorful flowers, this striking Valdo Paradiso Rosé bottle was designed by New York designer Ceci Johnson. The artist’s watercolors were digitized using specific scanners and then applied to the bottles.
This sparkling rosé wine is made from a blend of Glera grapes and Sicilian Nerello Mascalese, which gives the product intense and pleasant fruity undergrowth aromas. Great as an aperitivo, it pairs well with pasta, pizza, and sushi.
According to WineSearcher.com, this one is hard to find online in the U.S. but may be available at your local wine store. If not, you may want to bring this special bottle home from Italy.
Lamborghini Gold: Extra Dry Prosecco D.O.C. Treviso
This glistening gold bottle is as luxurious and highly styled as the legendary Italian automobiles with the same name.
And, yes, Lamborghini Gold Prosecco is a product of the same family. Ferruccio Lamborghini built the world’s first supercar, but after retirement, he decided to return to his roots: farming. With the same zeal he had for motors, he pursued his love of winemaking in the province of Umbria.
This elegant bottle of extra dry Prosecco is a blend crafted from the Lamborghini Winery’s extensive collection of reserve wines,

Freixenet Prosecco Rosé
When Spanish wine producer Freixenet, noted for its Cava, wanted to expand its market to compete with Champagne and Prosecco. It turned to the Hunt Hanson design group for help.
Together, the winemaker and designer came up with this distinctive, diamond-textured bottle that grabs your attention as it shimmers in the light. The bottle maintains the familiar profile of a Prosecco bottle but has a cut-glass exterior. The design was so noteworthy that it received a Design Effectiveness Award.
Freixenet Italian Sparkling Rosé is a delicate blend of Glera and Pinot Noir grapes. Fresh and fruity, it offers the aroma of red fruits, white flowers, and apples. It makes a perfect aperitivo and pairs well with shellfish and pasta dishes; it also creates a stunning centerpiece on the table.
