Inside Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa
Take a peek inside Secrets Huatulco, an adult-only, all-inclusive AAAA Four-Diamond resort that sits on the Pacific Coast in southwestern Mexico.
If you are looking for a luxury getaway that’s eco-friendly and relaxed, Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa has much to offer:
A relaxing, romantic setting
The resort sits on a private cove formed by huge rocks that surround the beach and extend into the ocean. The expansive views of Conjeos Bay are unspoiled because no other hotels or properties are within your sightline.
Water, water everywhere
The options for enjoying water activities are endless, whether you simply want to chill out under a palapa atop the golden beach sand or swim in one of the three magnificent infinity pools on the sprawling property.
Water play
At the aquatic sports center, active guests can snorkel, kayak or take sailing lessons with a supervised lifeguard overseeing.
A perfect place to cocoon
All the spacious rooms and suites are tastefully decorated, and offer unobstructed views of the pools, beach and ocean. Guests can soak in the sunshine, too, from their own private balcony or plunge pools (on the ground level only).
Unlimited luxury®
Secrets Huatulco (like other properties in the brand) is known for its concept of delivering Unlimited Luxury®. Stays include all meals, alcoholic beverages, and entertainment–as well as other amenities like fully stocked minibars, and twice daily maid service. When was the last time you arrived at a resort to find they even provided you with complimentary suntan lotion?
Flexible dining options
Guests choose from eight different gourmet specialty restaurants, including a buffet that serves both international fare as well as some of the regional specialties that make Oaxaca a mecca for foodies. There are also Mexican, French, Asian Fusion, Seafood and Italian restaurants. Reservations are never required.
For better or worse: Non-stop snacks and drinks
Whether it’s a shot of mezcal or tequila from one of the six indoor, outdoor and swim-up bars on property—or a chilled, specialty coffee with freshly baked cookies from Coco café—there is always another spot to discover, pause, relax and meet new friends.
Spectacular spa
The freestanding, contemporary spa is simply among the most beautiful in Mexico, a great place to work off excess calories. With a beauty salon, fitness center, yoga classes, sauna and steam rooms, a traditional sweat house (called a temazcal) and a full hydrotherapy circuit, you can easily spend most of your day at the Pevonia spa.
Restorative treatments
Ten treatment rooms, both singles and for couples, perched on a hill offer commanding panoramic views overlooking the ocean. The spa offers a range of indigenous treatments, including facials, massages and body wraps.
Gracious common areas
From the moment you enter the light, open-air lobby, you notice that the resort blends seamlessly with its environment and conveys a sense of place. Throughout the property, there are lovely touches like the folk art murals in the Market Café.
Enthusiastic entertainment team
Offering an ambiance and host of activities similar to a cruise ship, the Sundial newsletter (and this board near one of the pools) outlines a range of things to suit every taste, day (and evening), including karaoke, yoga, contests, cooking classes, tequila tastings, and live music performances.
Nightlife, too
After dark, guests can cozy up at the 360-degree Skybar that offers romantic views or attend an evening musical performance.
Off-site activities
If you can bear to leave paradise, on-site representatives of Apple Vacations offers a host of guided tours to nearby sites including boat excursions that explore nearby beaches and bays.

Beautiful place for relaxation…
We haven’t been to Huatulco – but it sounds lovely. On our next Mexico trip, we plan to check out some of the colonial towns like San Miguel de Allende and Morelia, and then finish up in Zihuatanejo. (Hope to get to Huatulco another time…)
Now this is living it up…where do I sign up? Thanks for sharing Irene.
There are so many beautiful areas in Mexico, like this one that I would love to explore!
Looks to be a lovely and relaxing resort!
This is unlimited luxury all right!
Any hotel that includes meals, alcohol and entertainment gets my vote.
